Our restaurant is located on the ground floor of the Historic Mansion Casatorre dei Leoni, a building dating back to 1270, one of the most important of mediaeval Siena.
With its cosy and romantic atmosphere, the restaurant Gallo Nero is the best place to enjoy an innovative experience, thanks to a perfect balance of tradition, gourmand and contemporary recipes.

The Historic Mansion

Gallo Nero is the gourmet restaurant of the historic mansion Casatorre dei Leoni, a Boutique hotel in the heart of Siena, just a few metres from Piazza del Campo.
A unique location for a stay in Tuscany, to visit must-see places and soak up stunning landscapes between Chianti and the Val d'Orcia, San Gimignano and Montalcino, Florence and Arezzo.
3 Suites and 3 Design Apartments make up the beautiful 13th century mansion, which can accommodate up to 22 guests in a dreamlike atmosphere.

We provide catering for events at a location of your choice. You may request the presence of chefs at your event.

Our location

The restaurant Gallo Nero is located in the heart of Siena, in Via del Porrione at Nos 65 to 67.
The famous Piazza del Campo and the marvellous Cathedral with its museum complex are just a few steps away.

Parking service in a private garage

Parking service in a private garage is available on request for our guests (€30).
Our driver will take you with your car directly to our restaurant, and return the car at the end of the dinner.

Reservations

Reservations are to be made via our website in the dedicated section, so that you can choose either the tasting menu (with or without wine pairings) or the à la carte menu.
We kindly ask you to leave your credit card details as a guarantee, to protect our work in case of no show.
After making your reservation, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.

Cancelling or modifying a reservation

To cancel, move or change (number of diners) your reservation, please send an e-mail or call at least 24 hours in advance.
IN THE EVENT OF LATE CANCELLATION, THE ENTIRE DEPOSIT WILL BE CHARGED.

Allergies and intolerances

When making a reservation, please inform us of any food allergies and intolerances. The chef will gladly prepare an ad hoc menu for you.

Wine Tasting

Selecting wine tasting at the time of booking is not mandatory. You may choose wine pairings directly at the table. Ask our knowledgeable waiting staff, who will advise you in the best possible way.

Duration of the dining experience

The duration of the dining experience may vary depending on the tasting menu you choose:
  • about 2 hours for the 5-course menu;
  • approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes for the 7-course menu.

Average price

The average price per diner may vary: from a minimum of €60, it may increase depending on the wines you choose or on the pairing with tasting menus.

To purchase the Gift Card, simply go to the dedicated section of our website. Once your purchase is finalised, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.

  • Thursday to Monday (closed Tuesday and Wednesday)
  • lunch: Noon - 2.30pm
  • dinner: 7pm - 9.30pm

CAR parking and Private Garage Service

The restaurant Gallo Nero is located in the historic centre of Siena, within the ZTL (restricted traffic zone). It is not possible to park in the immediate surroundings of the restaurant, however, you will find pay and display car parks about 800 metres away, close to Porta Romana or Porta Pispini.
We offer parking service in a PRIVATE GARAGE (to be booked). One of our drivers will drive you to the Gallo Nero and return your car after dinner.

DRESS CODE

No particular dress code is required at Gallo Nero, just feel free to be yourself.

PETS ALLOWED

Pets are allowed. When booking, please inform us of the pet type and size.
